Fourier Transform Near Infrared Spectroscopy (FT-NIR) is a comparative method that can be used as a Quality Control/Quality Assurance tool or in a receipt-inspection to fingerprint (chemical composition) non-black organic material (both liquids and solids). 

Once an absorption spectrum of a sample is obtained, it can be used as a reference for future comparison purposes. It can be used in raw material inspection, on-line during processing, or QC of finished products.
